YVES SAINT LAURENT scored a hit with Black Opium, the 2014 fragrance inspired by the brand’s iconic oriental Opium scent — and fans will love this new limited-edition version.

In a shimmering sapphire bottle, Black Opium Eau de Parfum Intense (£56 for 30ml, theperfumeshop.com) has top notes of blue absinthe and sweet boysenberry (a cross between a raspberry, loganberry, dewberry and blackberry), alongside base notes of coffee beans and vanilla from the original Black Opium scent.

Heart notes include jasmine sambac absolute blended with orange blossom, plus liquorice and sandalwood. The result will chase away any remaining February blues.
