8.9 MILLION TUNED IN FOR WALES WIN
WALES’ victory over England in Cardiff was watched by one of the largest television audiences for a Six Nations match in recent years. The BBC announced yesterday that the peak figure for Saturday’s pulsating encounter was 8.9million. It was the BBC’s fourth-highest audience for a championship fixture since the start of 2013, with the record of 9.6m set by England against France back in 2015. Matches between England and Wales are hugely popular, especially those staged in Cardiff. The 2013 match drew 9.5m viewers, while the 2017 peak was 9.2m.
