Town to use a drone to get rid of seagulls
A TOWN is set to use a drone to tackle nuisance seagulls, which are causing sleepless nights for residents.
The device would fly over Cheltenham in Gloucestershire to spot nests, with council officials then oiling the eggs to prevent them from hatching.
Cheltenham Borough Council will vote on the £10,000 proposal early next month.
It is also being recommended that residents’ wheelie bins be fitted with gull-proof flaps and takeways and mobile catering vans be forced to provide gull-proof bins outside their premises.
