Stop this slaughter

ANOTHER day, another knifing, and nothing of substance from politicians that will halt this epidemic.

If the young men being slaughtered on our streets were white instead of the majority being black, would there be the same lack of a concerted effort and action to stop this violence?

It is a national disgrace that the spate of deaths goes unchecked and our politicians are sitting on their hands, frozen by the fear of taking decisive action. Are they hoping the problem will simply go away?

Shame on the Conservatives, who were once proud to call themselves the party of law and order. SHANE CATTERICK,
