Even McDonald’s has blade scanner
POLICE in Birmingham have installed a knife-scanning arch outside a city centre McDonald’s to search for blades.
The device was put in place on Tuesday as police conducted a stop-andsearch operation in the area, which has been beset by large fights, antisocial behaviour and stabbings.
Describing the scene at the Dale End restaurant, onlooker Ryan Underwood said: ‘There are about six police officers flanked around the restaurant and others watching over the situation. They are certainly going above and beyond today.’
