FOUR WEDDINGS AND A REUNION!
25 years on, how film’s stars have changed (or not)
IT has been 25 years – and goodness knows how many weddings and funerals – since they first appeared together.
Now the cast of Four Weddings And A Funeral are back in church for more nuptials.
And while some of the hit rom- com’s stars appear to have aged only gently, it seems time has not been quite so kind to Hugh Grant, 58.
Newly-released photos from the set of the Comic Relief spin-off show him looking a little greyer and craggier than in his 1994 heyday. But Andie MacDowell, 60 – whom his character chased down the aisle and kissed in the original Richard Curtis film – has managed to retain her youthful glow.
The pictures show the couple arm-in-arm, with reports suggesting it is their daughter, played by Lily James, 29, who is tying the knot this time.
Lydia and Bernard – played by Sophie Thompson, 57, and David Haig, 63 – also seem to still be happily married. And Rowan Atkinson’s hapless Father Gerald – who famously stuttered over his wedding vows – appears to be marrying the couple 25 years later. John Hannah’s Matthew, who movingly recited W H Auden’s Stop All The Clocks at the funeral of his partner Gareth in Four Weddings, gives another reading this time around.
Meanwhile, Kristin Scott Thomas, 58, is still fresh-faced as she returns as ice queen Fiona – in a hat to equal the one she wore in the original. The 12-minute charity special will air on March 15.
