Want to buy a sheepdog? That’ll be £14k

A BRITISH sheepdog has broken a world record after selling at auction for £14,700.

The price for two-year-old Brenna, the daughter of an international champion, is the highest ever for a bitch and just £100 shy of the male record.

Brenna’s owner Emma Gray, 33, became known as Britain’s loneliest shepherdess after taking over a farm in Northumberland ten years ago. She said she was ‘absolutely delighted’ with the sale at Skipton, North Yorkshire.

The winning bidder, from the US, runs dog trials in Maryland. Brenna will also help look after her flock of 60 sheep.
