Deal-breaker

-

THE position being proposed by a number of MPs is bizarre: that if the EU doesn’t agree a deal, then we won’t leave without a deal.

That’s the same as saying you’re going to buy a house whatever the terms and will not walk away.

Have any of these people ever negotiated a deal? MICHAEL J. COLE, Wolstanton, Staffs. AFTER we leave, the EU will be like a bunch of kids in the street who have bullied the boy who owns the football. He has gone, taking his ball with him.

After accusing each other of causing this and pleading with him to come back, they will scrape together enough pocket money to buy a cheap replacement.

They will then taunt the boy, saying there is no way they are going to let him play street football with them again. But he is not bothered as he has signed on with the town juniors and is now playing proper football.

TERRY PAYNE, Banstead, Surrey. I DECIDED I needed a new energy deal, so I phoned my provider. The first thing I stressed was that no deal, including going to another provider, was not an option.

After much discussion, I got a deal that involves me paying £500 more than before and I will never be able to leave.

I can’t understand why I didn’t get a better deal. After all, I did say please.

DAVE MORBY, Basildon, Essex.
