NANTES FACE YEAR-LONG WAIT FOR SALA MONEY
NANTES could be forced to wait more than a year to receive any money from Cardiff City for Emiliano Sala, despite making an appeal to FIFA over the club’s failure to make a first payment. The Premier League club are puzzled by suggestions that yesterday was the mutually agreed deadline by which a first payment for the £15million player would be made. The club said ‘the relevant authorities must be allowed to determine the facts’. Manager Neil Warnock suggested last week that Cardiff were ready to make a payment. But Cardiff feel that Monday’s interim report into the crash which killed Sala questions the choices of both pilot and plane, and may argue the full report is needed before making payment. That might not be for a year.
