EVERTON OUT TO MAKE UP FOR FREAK ANFIELD GOAL, WARNS SIGURDSSON
GYLFI SIGURDSSON says Everton have extra motivation to dent Liverpool’s title challenge in the Merseyside derby on Sunday after the bizarre goal that led to a painful defeat in their last meeting. Divock Origi scored in the 96th minute of added time at Anfield in December after Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford mishandled a sliced Virgil Van Dijk shot that had ballooned high up into the air. ‘To lose a derby game like that, being so close to a good point away from home, was very disappointing,’ said Sigurdsson. ‘These are the games you are looking forward to before the season starts.’
