BROUGHTON filmed a previous girlfriend after she took a ‘whole load of drugs’ he gave her, it is claimed.
He recorded her pain as she slipped and smashed her head.
And he told the same woman, Swedish student Paulina Aberg, that he dreamed of pushing her off a roof and covering up the murder, it was alleged by prosecutors.
Miss Aberg came forward after reading media reports about the trial, and was flown into the UK to give evidence for the prosecution, to tell jurors about his sinister behaviour.
She also told police that ‘she was aware that the defendant had images of people suffering, including suffering death, on his phone, in which he appeared to have some interest’.
Prosecutor Willam Mousley, QC, confirmed Broughton had at least a dozen images and three or four videos of corpses and people dying, including from knife violence.
Miss Aberg’s evidence was so damning, however, that Broughton’s lawyers managed to have it ruled out as overly prejudicial, as it appeared to prove he took a ‘callous pleasure ... in the pain of others’.
Miss Aberg was a voice-over artist working in a clothes shop in London when she met Broughton, whom she
dated in 2017, apparently while he and Louella had briefly broken up.
She is now back in her native Sweden. When the Mail spoke to her father Ingemar, he appeared dismayed that she was not allowed to give evidence, acknowledging that, as he put it, ‘things have turned ugly in London’.
Other footage not seen by the jury included that of Broughton pressurising a scantily-clad woman to take drugs. And videos filmed years earlier, not shown in court but available online, show a enthusiasm for violent street fights – often featuring drunk women – and other scenes of humiliation.
One, dating back to 2012 on his personal account, features unsavoury footage of a woman passed out on a bus. A blog linked to his rap group revels in ‘up-skirt’ shots of women and upsetting photos of rough-sleepers and street alcoholics.
