A gulf in leadership

-

SHOULD Mrs May succeed on Brexit, it will rightly be regarded as her most impressive political achievement. But close behind will be standing up to Russia after the horrifying Salisbury chemical attack.

A year ago, Vladimir Putin’s thugs tried unsuccessfully to assassinate Sergei Skripal and his daughter using deadly nerve agent Novichok – but killed an innocent woman while endangering thousands.

With steely determination, the PM rallied the international community against Moscow and, in a diplomatic triumph, saw more than 150 Russian spies expelled from 28 countries.

By contrast, it was Jeremy Corbyn’s most shameful moment. The life-long Kremlin apologist simply couldn’t bring himself to blame Putin’s gangster state. Contemptibly, he questioned Britain’s security services.

The mere thought of this stooge one day being near the levers of power sends a shiver down the spine.
