Love is... the same lifespan
WE may like to think there’s nothing calculating about choosing our life partner. But researchers have found we are unwittingly drawn to those with a similar life expectancy.
It seems humans unknowingly select mates who share similar risks of illnesses linked to lifestyle factors, which helps explain why longterm couples can have similar lifespans. Experts at the University of Edinburgh, using a study involving more than half a million people, found in-laws even shared a similar longevity.
