QPLEASE help. I’ve recently found out my best friend is having an affair. We’re both in our late 40s and have known each other for years. I’d noticed for a while that she didn’t seem herself — and that she’s always glued to her phone.
After a few glasses of wine, she confessed she is cheating on her husband with a work colleague. I was so shocked. Her husband is one of the loveliest men I know and they have a daughter together.
It’s put me in such an uncomfortable position; especially as my partner and I frequently go for dinner with them. The worst part is that she has now asked me to cover for her, by telling her husband we’re going out when she’s with him.
I feel so guilty. I haven’t told my husband yet, as I know he’ll hit the roof. I’m scared that if I tell her to stop, it will ruin our friendship. What do I do?
