KLOUIS THEROUX picks his way through the thorny territory of sexual assault allegations at U.S. colleges for this compelling oneoff. ‘We aren’t entertaining the concept that she could have lied,’ says Saifullah Khan (pictured with Theroux), who was accused of rape — which he denies — and suspended from Yale University. Khan was born to Afghan parents in a refugee camp in Pakistan, before coming to America on a scholarship. This film is essentially a character study of him — the alleged victim did not agree to be interviewed.
