Klopp blames wind as Liverpool’s title tilt veers off course

- DOMINIC KING

JURGEN KLOPP blamed the wind for blowing Liverpool’s title challenge off course as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at Everton.

For the second successive Sunday, Liverpool struggled for fluency and they had to settle for a point in a frenzied Merseyside derby. It means Liverpool, for the first time since December 7, are no longer in charge of their destiny. Mo Salah and Fabinho wasted great chances.

Manager Klopp said: ‘It was a very, very difficult game for different reasons. A wild opponent... I know people don’t like it when I say that, but the wind came from all directions. It’s not exactly what we wanted.’
