Richest man in Britain set to buy Sky
BRITAIN’S richest man is fast emerging as the favourite to become Team Sky’s new owner. As Sportsmail revealed last week, the all-conquering team have been in discussions with Sir Jim Ratcliffe about the possibility of taking over. Ratcliffe, the chairman and chief executive of the Ineos chemicals group with a net worth of £21billion, is understood to be among a number of interested parties to have met team principal Sir Dave Brailsford. And by yesterday insiders claimed a decision is imminent, with Ratcliffe in pole position despite concerns within his own organisation about the recent Team Sky controversies.
