SHE may have been showing her softer side ... or was it really a secret takeover plot?
Chief Secretary to the Treasury Liz Truss uploaded an image of herself posing with Larry, Downing Street’s chief mouser, to her Instagram page yesterday.
The Conservative MP’s picture shows her sitting in a tall leather chair in the No 10 hallway with Larry on her knee, stroking him.
She captioned the picture: ‘Me and The Larry....#lovecats # p u s s i n b o ots # topcat #moggmomentum.’
‘The Larry’ is thought to be a riposte to claims that she refers to herself as ‘The Truss’, an echo of the way Home Secretary Sajid Javid calls himself ‘the Saj’.
While some of her followers complimented the picture, it also attracted some less flattering comments.
Some pointed out that the pose is similar to that of James Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who is famously seen in the films stroking a white cat as he plots world domination from his highbacked chair.
