ASTRAZENECA boss Pascal Soriot has trousered £11.4m in annual pay, a rise of nearly 9pc after it returned to sales growth.

It means the Frenchman, credited with turning around the

£drug giant’s fortunes, has been handed an astonishing £54.6m since 2012. His pay for last year included £9.5m in bonuses.

The package could spark controversy, as there have been a series of shareholder rebellions over pay – about 40pc opposed his 2016 package at an annual meeting.
