CHELSEA LAUNCH APPEAL AGAINST TRANSFER BAN

FIFA have confirmed that Chelsea have appealed against their transfer ban. The world football governing body imposed the punishment after the club were found guilty of breaching rules on the transfer of overseas players under the age of 18. Chelsea have been banned from registering new players over the next two transfer windows. FIFA did not say whether the ban would be lifted pending the appeal hearing. Chelsea initially hoped they’d be able to sign players in the summer with the appeal pending.
