BAMBA OUT FOR REST OF SEASON

Cardiff defender Sol Bamba has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering knee ligament damage. He sustained the injury during the 2-0 Premier League defeat at Wolves on Saturday and will have surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament. ‘Unfortunat­ely our biggest fears have been confirmed regarding the injury Sol suffered at Wolves on Saturday,’ said Cardiff manager Neil Warnock. ‘Scans have shown that he has ruptured his aCL. He will have an operation on Wednesday and therefore miss the rest of the season.’ Cardiff are in 18th and two points from safety.

STOKE will study the outcome of Saido Berahino’s court appearance today before making a ruling on his future. As previously reported by Sportsmail the club are considerin­g sacking Berahino after his drinkdrivi­ng charge. Experts believe this may be difficult, but Stoke have consulted lawyers on the issue.

THREE Bayern Munich stars have been told by Germany boss Joachim Low they are not part of his plans. Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller were in the squad who crashed out of the World Cup at the group stage. They are set to face Liverpool next week in the Champions League last 16.
