GUNNERS CLOSE TO MONCHI DEAL

ARSENAL are confident Monchi will join them as technical director after he left Roma yesterday following the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as manger. The Gunners had been prepared to pay a £1million release clause to secure Monchi, 50, who worked with manager Unai Emery at Sevilla. Arsenal have offered him a three-year deal and hope he can start right away.
