Coady gives Southgate timely nudge

CONOR COADY gave a reminder of his quality in the heart of another strong defensive display from Wolves as Gareth Southgate prepares to announce his England squad for matches against the Czech Republic and Montenegro. The 26-year-old Coady has fought his way into contention for a call-up with his consistent performances at a time when Joe Gomez and Phil Jones are injured. ‘It is a question for the England manager but what I see every day is a fantastic player, a captain and that’s good,’ said Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Yesterday’s draw with Chelsea meant Nuno’s team were able to add to an impressive record against the Premier League’s Big Six — 10 points from nine games this season. ‘There’s no real fear from us coming to places like this,’ said Coady. ‘We know we can sit deep and attack on the counter.’
