WHO FLIES THE BOEING 737 MAX 8...AND WHO HAS GROUNDED IT?

■ Around 5,000 planes have been ordered by 106 airlines , with 370 currently used.

■ TUI is using 15 in the UK. They fly from Manchester to destinatio­ns across Europe including Ibiza, Geneva, Venice, Toulouse, Palma de Mallorca, Cyprus and Rhodes in Greece.

■ Norwegian is also using 18 in the UK and has ordered another 108. They mainly fly from London Gatwick to Helsinki and Oslo but also from Edinburgh to Norway and New York Stewart Internatio­nal.

■ Ryanair has ordered 135 planes, but they are not yet in use

■ Comair (British Airways franchise in South Africa)

■ China (Boeing’s biggest market with 95 of the Max 8), including Air China, Shanghai Airlines, Okay Airways and Lucky Air

■ Ethiopia, including Ethiopian Airlines

■ Indonesia, including Lion Air and Garuda Indonesia

■ Cayman Islands, including Cayman Airways

■ Mongolia, including MIAT Mongolian Airlines

■ Royal Air Maroc (Morocco)
