ENGLAND’S UNCAPPED QUARTET

-

BEN EARL (Backrow, Saracens,21)

Still establishing himself at club level, but he has been on Eddie Jones’ radar for some time as a strong carrier and breakdown operator. Toured South Africa with England last June without playing, and has been involved on and off throughout this championship.

MARCUS SMITH (Fly-half, Harlequins, 20)

Jones saw him playing for Brighton College during the last World Cup and made a mental note that he was a star in the making. Gifted attacking talent at No 10 but has had to cope with his first career dip after surging to prominence.

ELLIOTT STOOKE (Lock, Bath, 25 —main picture)

Came through at Gloucester before joining their West Country rivals, where he has become a pack stalwart, playing in all 22 Premiership games last season. Won a junior World Cup with England, played for the Saxons and also against the Barbarians for the senior side.

OLLIE THORLEY (Wing, Gloucester,22)

He has been one of the stand-out performers in the domestic game this season, carving up defences with his devastating pace and footwork. Has become a regular of late in these training squads but may have to bide his time before making his Test debut.
