Alisson says Neuer’s best

- By DOMINIC KING

LIVERPOOL keeper Alisson said last night he is a long way from matching his opposite number in the Bayern goal tonight, Manuel Neuer. The Brazilian has impressed in his first season in England but insists the Germany international has set the bar high. ‘I can’t compare myself with Neuer,’ said Alisson. ‘He is one of the best in the last 10 years, maybe he is the best. He has won everything and I’m just starting. He is a reference for me and is a great guy as well. I have played against him, playing against him is a dream come true. ‘On the training ground every day I will work hard (to match him). I know I have to work hard, I am part of a big club who have big plans and have big goals. ‘I need to take this responsibility and take care of it to be the best in the world.’ Alisson says the passion starts with Liverpool’s manager. ‘Klopp is a funny guy but on the pitch he is serious, passionate about his football,’ said Alisson. ‘He passes that passion on to us. He’s a good guy, I think the way he deals with everyone, he treats us like his own. This makes special.’ Alisson also highlighted the threat posed by Bayern’s Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. ‘He’s a great striker,’ he said. ‘I like his style, the way he moves. ‘We need to really concentrate to stop him.’
