She’s naturally blonde, but Demelza will keep her flaming Poldark locks as she bids for fame in Hollywood
HER flame-red hair has been her passport to TV stardom as Demelza in Poldark.
Now Eleanor Tomlinson hopes her dyed locks will help her achieve Hollywood fame.
The 26-year-old actress has revealed that she intends to remain a redhead as she attempts to get her break in Hollywood, instead of reverting to her natural ‘muddy blonde’.
Miss Tomlinson has flown to Los Angeles to try her luck on the audition circuit less than two weeks after she finished filming the final series of Poldark with Aidan Turner.
‘What I do next has to be the right project. It has to be a step up, not sideways,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.
‘I love period drama, but I am looking forward to doing something modern. I’m very passionate about it being the right thing, because I’m lucky enough to have this amazing springboard now.’
Miss Tomlinson, who also posed for a Harper’s Bazaar fashion shoot, dyed her blonde hair red to play Cornish beauty Demelza in Poldark, which the BBC began screening in 2015.
The role has ‘opened so many doors for me’, she said. ‘I’ve established myself as a redhead now, I could never be quite a strong as a blonde.
‘And who cares if it’s not natural?’
