It must be Keira-nation street

CORONATION Street character Bet Lynch was clearly ahead of her time with her trademark leopard print outfits.

But while the pattern favoured in the soap by actress Julie Goodyear, 76, is firmly in fashion these days, it takes a special kind of presence to stand out in it – something Keira Knightley clearly has in abundance.

The 33-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star turned heads in New York on Tuesday when she wore a faux leopard fur coat over an elegant black lace dress with a pair of stiletto heels. She was in the States to talk about her latest film The Aftermath, set in post-war Germany.

The actress, who has starred in more than 40 films, revealed recently how she a suffered a breakdown when she was 22 through the pressure of work.

‘My world crashed. I felt as if I was broken into tiny pieces,’ she told Balance magazine. ‘I lost confidence in myself … There was no way I was going to be able to get on the red carpet without having a panic attack.’

Miss Knightley, who has a threeyear-old daughter Edie with her husband James Righton, said she recovered with hypnotherapy.
