Recycle your bottle for a meal discount

RESTAURANT chain Leon is introducing a reverse vending machine that will take cans and plastic bottles in return for 10 per cent discount tokens.

The machine, which will take used plastic bottles of less than 750ml or aluminium cans, will be located in a busy area of London at King’s Cross rather than at one of Leon’s 56 ‘natural fast food’ outlets. The pilot scheme is being run with waste management firm Veolia. Britain currently fails to recycle 40 per cent of plastic bottles.
