Father shot dead in 5am police raid
A FATHER of two was shot dead by police in a raid on a city centre apartment early yesterday in what sources claimed was a domestic incident.
The victim, named on social media as Trevor Smith, 51, was killed by a single gunshot after West Midlands Police officers stormed the newly built flat in the Lee Bank area of Birmingham at 5am.
It is understood police went there after receiving a report that the suspect was in possession of a firearm, and had previously made threats to another person.
Mr Smith is said to have been a member of the Birmingham City Zulu Warriors football hooligan ‘firm’, and had lived at the flat with a girlfriend, who had recently moved out. The Independent Office for Police Conduct is investigating.
