NATHANIEL CHALOBAH

THE former Chelsea midfielder looked set for a career lift-off after making his England debut against Spain earlier this season. But Chalobah’s progress has since stalled and he hasn’t started a Premier League game for Watford since early December. Injuries haven’t helped but Chalobah is 24 now and this is a time when he needs to be making strides forward.

OFFSIDE

ONE of the most fundamental laws of the game is now a complete mess. It used to be simple but has been complicated by so many tweaks and changes over the years that players, referees and supporters are struggling to interpret it. It is time to press the reset button and think again. And then someone may be able to tell us if Harry Kane really was offside against Arsenal.

PAUL MITCHELL

MITCHELL is the moron who attacked Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and is now six days into a 14-week prison sentence. It is clear the courts have made an example of him and maybe that’s understandable but the sentence did seem disproportionate to the nature of the offence. Away from sport, our justice system hands out much less for much worse and one wonders if they have really got this one right.
