I wear more mini-skirts now I’m a granny, reveals 80s supermodel Yasmin Le Bon
THEY say old habits die hard – and for Yasmin Le Bon, it seems her wardrobe is no exception.
The supermodel, 54, has insisted she won’t be giving up her high hemlines any time soon – and even admitted she wears mini-skirts more often now than she did in her 80s heyday.
The self-confessed ‘rock chick’ said becoming a grandmother is no reason to tone down her outfits. Her daughter Saffron gave birth to a son, Taro, in June.
‘The older you get the more you need to hold on to your rock ’n’ roll,’ said the mother of three, who is married to Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon.
‘I like labels that design for people like me, characters who just never want to grow up. I would be a rock chick for ever.
‘I wear more miniskirts now than I did in my 20s and 30s. I’m sure people say things behind my back, but what I don’t hear or see doesn’t hurt me.’
In September, Mrs Le Bon walked in Calvin Klein’s spring 2019 show after seven years away from the catwalk.
‘It sounds stupid but I didn’t want to look like a grandma on the runway,’ she told Stella magazine.
‘But I am a grandma, and I am on the runway, so there you go.’
