WHEN former tory chairman Dame Caroline spelman’s nonbinding amendment to block a no- deal Brexit was passed last month, she said: ‘the amendment is not in any way an attempt to block or delay Brexit. I am committed to honouring the result of the 2016 referendum and ensuring the country leaves the eu, which is due to happen on March 29.’ Yet, last week, spelman signed an amendment by former labour Cabinet minister Yvette Cooper which demanded a delay in Britain’s exit from the eu. no wonder people don’t trust politicians.
