For £2,500, BA offers you a suite in the sky

-

THEY may enjoy the superior service and pre-take-off drink, but high flyers still run the risk of being lumbered with noisy neighbours.

Soon, however, this will no longer be a problem for passengers in business class – after British Airways unveiled its new ‘suite’, complete with a sliding door.

Customers who can afford to pay more than £2,500 for a return flight from London to New York will be able to shut the door on fellow flyers in the new ‘Club Suite’ (pictured), which BA called its biggest business class overhaul in 20 years. Currently, the flights cost upwards of £1,400.

As well as a 6ft 6in lie-flat seat and 18.5in TV, the suites come with 40 per cent more storage, including a vanity unit and mirror.

The upgrade is set to land in July on the first of BA’s new fleet of Airbus A350 – brought in as part of a £6.5billion investment to replace its ageing 747 jumbo jets.

Editor of frequent flyer website Head For Points Rob Burgess said: ‘As a regular critic of BA’s current Club World seat, I am genuinely surprised and impressed. My only concern is passengers will need to wait four years to see it across the fleet.’
