Jodie murder trial date is set
A TEENAGER accused of murdering Jodie Chesney appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday.
Svenson Ong-akwie, 18, is one of three males charged with the fatal stabbing of 17year- old Jodie, right, from Dagenham, who was knifed in the back at a park in Harold Hill, Romford, east London, on March 1.
Ong-a-kwie, of Romford, appeared via video-link from HMP Pentonville.
Two others have also been charged with the murder: Croatian national Manuel Petrovic, 20, and a 16-year-old youth who cannot be named.
Yesterday, Judge Anthony Leonard QC remanded the defendant in custody. Prosecutor Joel Smith said a provisional trial date has been set for September 2.
