Sickly sweet seduction

-

VAPING is now considered cool among the young — one in six does it. So we should all take seriously the warning from top breast cancer surgeon Professor Kefah Mokbel that hormone disruptors in vaping liquids could put users at risk of breast cancer in later life.

At least with cigarettes the message is clear (even if kids choose to ignore it). Vapes, by contrast, have become the alcopops of their day: ruthlessly targeted to appeal to children’s palates with sweet flavours and bright packaging.

I really hope Professor Mokbel is wrong when he says we may find ‘in 30 years’ time that widespread vaping among teenagers [has] triggered a significant number of avoidable cases’.

But why take the risk? Tell your children that when it comes to vaping, just say no.
