That’s far more a-peeling! ‘Ugly blue’ cabinet is grey
FOR years Kayleigh Greer felt a nagging disappointment every time she looked at her bedroom cabinet.
Its distinctive shade of blue meant it never quite fitted in with the grey and silver themed room.
She bought the £150 three-drawer unit from B&Q in 2016 as it was the closest match to her suite – and it was the only one left in stock.
Then last weekend during a spring clean, the sales manager, 35, decided to remove some of the protective tape lining the top of each drawer.
As she started to peel it off, she realised her cabinet wasn’t blue after all. Mrs Greer, who lives with husband Darren and their three children in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, said: ‘At first I panicked as I thought I had ruined the unit. But I kept peeling and underneath was a really nice grey.
‘Darren was downstairs with the kids and I rushed down with all this blue film scrunched up in my arms.
‘When I told him where it had come from he burst out laughing. I never had any suspicions the blue colour was a film. It’s like we’ve got a brand new cabinet.’
