Andrew Davies, 55

KIER has made Andrew Davies chief executive to lead a turnaround at the troubled construction giant.

The former boss of Wates Group replaces Haydn Mursell, who left less than two months ago after investors snubbed a £250m emergency rights issue and banks were left nursing a £100m headache.

Davies was due to take on the top job at failed outsourcer Carillion, but it went bust before he could take up the post.

He starts his new role on April 15.
