FA LOOK INTO COIN ATTACK ON BARKLEY
EVERTON are promising to take ‘robust action’ against any supporter found to have thrown a coin at Chelsea’s Ross Barkley after the club and the FA opened investigations into the incident yesterday. The FA have written to Chelsea and Everton for their observations of the alleged cointhrowing. The incident occurred in front of Goodison Park’s Gwladys Street End during a first-half attack from Chelsea. Barkley was booed on his first trip back to Everton since his £15million move away from the club 14 months ago. He was substituted on 65 minutes. Meanwhile, Everton manager Marco Silva has been fined £12,000 after accepting an improper conduct charge. He was furious that Newcastle’s winning goal this month was allowed to stand. Ayoze Perez scored but several players were offside in the build-up. Silva then confronted referee Lee Mason and his assistant on the pitch.
