How hunting for drugs ended in depravity

AARON Campbell was a violent cannabis addict who murdered Alesha while burgling her father’s home for the drug.

The 16-year-old, who also drank heavily, began smoking cannabis at 14 and quickly progressed to super-strength varieties.

Alesha’s father, Robert, has admitted selling cannabis to the schoolboy and the pair had fallen out over a £10 drug debt. Campbell, who lived in Shropshire before moving to Bute as a young child, was also addicted to violent computer games. He once declared online: ‘There is a monster inside me.’

Locals on Bute say Campbell was ‘born evil’ and his sadistic streak emerged when at six or seven he tried to drown a little girl at the local leisure centre. Neighbours also claimed he stole cats before skinning them alive.
