Music is Solace for Dame Tessa’s girl
THE LATE Dame Tessa Jowell’s daughter, singer Jess Mills, reveals she’s releasing her debut album next month, nearly one year after the Labour MP died from a brain tumour aged 70.
The 37-year-old, whose father is lawyer David Mills, has aptly named it Solace as music has always been a comfort. ‘The writing, recording and finishing of this record has spanned some of the most transformational times in my life,’ says Jess, who had a daughter, Ottie, above, with her singer husband Finn Vine shortly before her mum’s death.
‘For me therefore, it embodies all that change, but also the indescribably precious continuity that music creates for me. ‘ Even when my world has changed beyond recognition, music will always, always be there.’
