How TV’s Lorraine thwarts the trolls

Tv presenter Lorraine Kelly, who this week won a £1.2 million tax battle against the Inland Revenue, has also been fighting trolls on social media.

‘I’m so glad I grew up when I did because the pressures on our kids are so hard and people need to be kinder,’ she tells me.

‘When I receive any rude message or see anything unkind I just mute the follower because if I block them they know.

‘ It’s much better because they don’t know that they’re ranting to an empty room.’

Kelly was told she didn’t have to pay the £900,000 tax bill and £ 300,000 in National Insurance after a judge agreed she was her own boss, describing her as an ‘ honest, intelligent’ woman.
