JENNY LEWIS: On The Line (Warner)

THE former Rilo Kiley singer’s fourth solo album is typically classy. The golden glow of 2014’s The Voyager has given way to more abrasive sounds, but her eloquent confessionals are still convincing. Helped by sumptuous hooks, she tackles emotional upheaval on Dogwood, about the end of an affair, but retains her sense of humour on new wave rocker Red Bull & Hennessy, with Ringo Starr supplying the drums.
