FOR many of us, planning a holiday is part of the thrill, fine-tuning your wish list as you deliberate on the type of break you might choose for your next escape. Then there’s the sense of anticipation, as you count down the months before your break, dreaming of discovering new cultures, exploring new destinations, sampling new cuisines and enjoying new experiences. Whether you want to relax and slow down the pace of life or embark on adrenaline-fuelled adventure – or perhaps a blend of the two, and more – P&O Cruises has a long and illustrious heritage of creating holidays at sea and on land, offering the experience and expertise to deliver the perfect holiday, whether you’re a seasoned seafarer or someone who is considering a cruise for the first time.
Taking on board the ever-evolving wish list of an increasingly diverse range of holidaymakers, Britain’s favourite cruise line offers an escape for everyone – from short breaks and fly-cruises to world cruises and an extensive range of itineraries. Take a tour of the Continent’s captivating cities, set sail for the magical lands of Dubai and the Arabian Gulf, enjoy a sun-drenched island hop around the Caribbean or embark on a once-in-a-lifetime World Cruise.
Wherever your holiday takes you, you’ll find yourself right in the heart of every destination, with the freedom and flexibility to tailor your time on board and ashore to your tastes and interests. At sea, enjoy tranquil time indulging in soothing spa treatments or put your feet up and soak up the sun on deck; sample the spectacle of world-class theatre or enjoy a convivial cocktail with new-found friends. On land, participate in exhilarating sports and activities amid spectacular landscapes, wander or cycle around historic cities and local landmarks, or immerse yourself in enriching cultural and culinary experiences. It might mean being in the hands of English-speaking expert tour guides, or setting off under your own steam, exploring destinations on your terms, often with a full day and even overnight stays to give you time to savour the flavours of new places.
INTRODUCING IONA
AS P&O Cruises awaits the arrival of Iona, the beautiful new flagship in the fleet, in May 2020, there is that very same sense of anticipation and excitement you feel as you plan your holiday. Created to showcase the
surrounding seascapes and coastal landscapes with a range of visionary design features including the magnificent, three-storey Grand Atrium, Iona is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and embodies the next generation of cruise ships.
STAR ATTRACTIONS
ONE of her star attractions, SkyDome, spans two decks, offering round-the-clock entertainment by utilising a pool with retractable stage and dazzling performances and parties under a stunning glazed roof. With four swimming pools – including an infinity and an indoor pool – and a host of whirlpools, there will be a wealth of ways to spend your days and nights on board.
These include dancing to live music at The 710 Club and, on selected itineraries, a convivial evening of dinner and dance, hosted by a Strictly Come Dancing special guest.
Iona will make her debut sailing from Southampton to the Norwegian fjords in summer 2020, followed by a maiden winter season exploring the some of northern Europe’s most enchanting cities and sunnier southern routes discovering Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands. Wherever you are on Iona’s 16 decks, whether you’re in the comfort of your cabin, relaxing with friends and family or indulging in delicious dining experiences, watch the world go by and raise a glass to life at sea.
