SCHOOLGIRL ERROR FROM EMILY

-

SHADOW Foreign Secretary emily Thornberry tried to embarrass Jeremy Hunt by commenting on the £27 million in private school fees paid by the Foreign Office for children of UK-based staff.

Thornberry, of course, spurned schools near her home in Islington in favour of a secondary 13 miles away for her eldest child. Dame Alice Owen’s School in Potters Bar, which is partially selective, achieved far better GCSe results than schools where she lives.

Naturally, the well-heeled MP, now pandering to Labour’s Left for a leadership bid, at the time said this was a private matter.
