Provvy board criticised

TWO board members brought in by doorstep lender Provident Financial to fight off a hostile takeover have been branded ‘specialists in failure’.

Predator Non-Standard Finance criticised Robert East and Graham Lindsay for their previous roles at collapsed sub-prime lenders – East was at Cattles before it collapsed in 2016 while Lindsay was at Wonga before it went bust last year.

Provvy said it had appointed them, along with new Vanquis Bank managing director Neil Chandler, because of their experience in consumer lending.
