What a heel! Cuban street artist woos Camilla with a rose and a kiss

The Duchess of Cornwall sealed the first full day of the couple’s historic visit to Cuba with a kiss – from one of the country’s national heroes. The warm welcome came from a street performer dressed as a statue of poet and essayist Jose Marti, who caught Camilla’s eye during a walkabout in Havana.
Standing stock-still in a suit painted bronze, he presented the duchess – wearing a blue dress by Anna Valentine – with a rose and kissed her hand.
Meanwhile Charles enjoyed a less gentle introduction to the city as he stepped into the ring at the Rafael Trejo boxing gym. Cuban boxers are among the most successful in the world – and the gym is known for producing many of them.
