Tate wins battle of the museums

PABLO PICASSO has helped Tate Modern overtake the British Museum as the most popular museum or gallery in the UK, breaking its nine-year run in top spot. An exhibition of Picasso’s work at the gallery on London’s South Bank boosted visitors to 5.9 million in 2018, making it the most visited in the UK and the fifth most popular internationally. The Louvre in Paris remains the most visited museum and gallery in the world at 10.2 million.
