Facebook sued over NZ attack

AN Islamic group is suing Facebook and YouTube for hosting footage of the New Zealand terror attack.

The French Council of the Muslim Faith is using laws that prohibit ‘broadcasting a message with violent content abetting terrorism’.

Both sites say they acted as rapidly as possible to delete clips of the attack on mosques in Christchurch. Footage spread across the web after the gunman livestreamed his spree on Facebook.
