Four cups of coffee a day can ease a red face

-

DRINKING coffee may help lower the risk of rosacea, the chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes redness on the forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. Research based on around 80,000 women monitored since 1989 shows those who drank four or more cups a day were 23 per cent less likely to develop the condition, compared with those who drank less than one cup a month, reports the journal JAMA Dermatology.

Caffeine is thought to reduce dilation of the blood vessels and suppress the immune system, so reducing the risk and appearance of rosacea.
